Westchester's Premier bartending training school, The Academy of Professional Bartending, is proud to be part of New Rochelle's 300 year history. With 9.3 miles of shoreline along the Long Island Sound it is easy to see why it is referred to as "The Queen City of the Sound."

The Academy of Professional Bartending School of Westchester is located in the beautiful and historic area of New Rochelle, NY. Westchester County's Premier Bartending School is conveniently located to serve our students as well as the hospitality industry. We are just 1 block from I-95 and 1 mile from the Hutch.

Located 2 blocks to the right of our bartending school is IONA College and the New Rochelle High School. And 2 blocks to the left of our bartender school is New Roc City, the Avalon and Trump Plaza.

We believe that both classroom and hands on bartender training is an essential formula for achieving our goals. After completing our program you will get a Mixologist Certificate authorized by the New York State Education Department. This certification is good for life and good nationwide.

What does it mean to have a certificate for bartending? Getting Employment has become very competitive over the past several years. Job opportunities are available, but only the most qualified personnel are considered for employment. Our bartending certification program lets owners know that you were properly trained in both knowledge and hands on skills that are required as a bartender. We will also show you how to market yourself for employment.

Real Barroom Training Environment~ The Academy of Professional Bartending School was designed and built from the ground up by bartenders for bartenders. Every nail, screw and brush stroke was personally installed by our staff. We wanted to create the ultimate bartender training facility and experience. And we have succeeded!

Real barroom environment means that our facility was designed to look, have the feel and be equipped like any modern day bar/tavern or club. If you have done your research, alot of the other bartending schools in New York brag that they have " State-of-the-Art facilities and equipment". Not true! These same schools are charghing you an arm and a leg to attend their bartending classes. And what are you really offered? Plastic martini glasses. And why? Because it costs too much to replace them. That in itself says something about their inadequacies. How do you learn to properly handle glassware with plastic cups? You can't develope proper handling technique or finese when using plastic. And if the students are breaking that many glasses then maybe its a reflection on the training or lack of.

How about the garnishes? Are they using sponges or construction paper? Are you kidding us? We can't remember ever going into a real bar and being served sponges or paper fruit cutouts on our drinks, lol! Is that real barroom environment?

Do they use real ice or plastic ice cubes? Are there sinks or do you dump your plastic ice into a plastic pail. How about the equipment and facility. Is it old, run down? Are the bars warped, chipped or cracked. Are the sinks old, rusty and dented? Are the liquor labels some cheap xerox copies held on with shipping tape? Are the manuals outdated, black & white, extra large fonts to take up space? REAL BARROOM ENVIRONMENT? Please! And do they charge you so much more for so much less?
